Privacy Policy

This covers what information Quant collects, how we use it, and what control you have over it.

What We Collect

Account details

When you sign up, we collect your email address and whatever profile information you add — username, display name, profile photo.

What you post

We store your posts, replies, reactions, price targets, sentiment votes, and any tickers you tag. That's the core of what the app does.

Portfolio data

If you add positions or a watchlist, we store that to show you relevant content. We don't connect to your brokerage and never see your actual account.

Usage data

We collect standard usage data — which features you use, what content you view, and how you interact with other users. This helps us make the app better.

Device info

Basic stuff: device type, OS version, app version. This helps us catch bugs and make sure things work across different phones.

Subscription and purchase data

If you subscribe to a paid plan, we store your subscription tier, status, and billing period dates. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple — we never see your credit card or payment details. Subscription status is synced to our servers via RevenueCat, our subscription management provider.

How We Use It

  • Keeping your account and the app running
  • Personalizing your feed and recommendations
  • Sending notifications about activity that's relevant to you
  • Showing relevant ads to free-tier users based on your interests and app usage
  • Fixing bugs and building new features
  • Detecting and stopping spam, abuse, and violations of our Terms
  • Responding when you reach out to us

What We Share

Your public content: Posts, replies, and your profile are visible to other users. Your watchlist and positions are private unless you choose to share them.

Vendors: We use third-party services for infrastructure, analytics, and push notifications. They only see what they need to do their job and can't use your data for anything else.

Legal requests: If we receive a valid legal request, we may be required to share information. We'll tell you if we're able to.

We don't sell your personal information. We may sell or license aggregated, de-identified platform data — things like sentiment trends across tickers — for research or commercial purposes. None of it can be traced back to you individually.

Public Data We Display

Quant aggregates and displays publicly available data from government databases and official disclosure portals, including congressional trade disclosures filed under mandatory reporting laws, SEC filings, and other publicly available government records. This data is sourced directly from government agencies and official public portals. Quant does not claim ownership of any public government data and does not commercially redistribute it. The data is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. Filings may be submitted up to 45 days after a transaction and may contain inaccuracies outside our control. Always verify important information through the original government source.

Advertising

Free-tier users see ads served by Google AdMob. Google may use information about how you use apps and websites to show relevant ads. On iOS, we request your permission before enabling personalized ads via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can change this at any time in your iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

We do not share your personal information with advertisers individually. Premium and Pro subscribers do not see ads.

Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

Subscriptions

Quant offers optional paid subscription plans (Premium and Pro). If you subscribe, your subscription tier and status are stored in our systems to unlock the appropriate features. All payments are processed by Apple through in-app purchases — Quant does not store or access your payment information.

We use RevenueCat to manage subscription lifecycles (purchases, renewals, cancellations). RevenueCat receives your anonymous app user ID and subscription event data to keep your access status accurate across devices. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Security

We encrypt data in transit and at rest. That said, no system is unbreakable. Don't share your password with anyone, and don't use the same password across multiple accounts. If we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you by email or in-app as quickly as we can.

Your Controls

Settings: You can update your profile, change notification preferences, and manage privacy settings directly in the app.

Deleting your account: You can delete your account in Settings. We remove your personal data within 30 days. Some information may be retained longer if required by law or to prevent fraud.

Data export: Email us at contact@quantapphq.com and we'll put together a copy of your data.

Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Once you delete it, personal information is cleared within 30 days, except for anything we're legally required to hold onto.

Posts that other users have quoted or interacted with may remain in those contexts even after your account is deleted.

Minimum Age

Quant is intended for users aged 16 and older. If you believe someone under 16 has an account, let us know and we'll close it.

California Residents (CCPA)

Under the CCPA, California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to have it deleted, and to opt out of any sale of personal data. We don't sell personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@quantapphq.com.

EEA and UK Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have additional rights under the GDPR or UK GDPR:

  • Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data
  • Right to restrict processing — request that we limit how we use your data
  • Right to data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Right to object — object to certain types of processing

Our lawful basis for processing your data is legitimate interest (operating the service you signed up for) and, where required, your explicit consent. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@quantapphq.com.

Outside the US

Quant operates from the United States. If you're using the app from another country, your data is processed here under US law, which may differ from your local regulations.

Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of New York. By using Quant, you consent to the jurisdiction of New York courts for any disputes arising from this policy.

Changes

We'll update this policy when things change. If the changes are significant, we'll let you know in the app or by email before they take effect.
